I think you are addicted - bad.

I am somewhat too, however I have a job that requires me to travel around the world and in many of those locations I can't get internet without going through firwalls and proxy (havent deared to tunnel yet).

It seems to me that you could do an experiment to really find out if you could break your habit. The worst thing I think you could do is to quit cold turkey. Not a good idea.' You probably would want it even more.

The experiment could be to break up your day with tasks other than Guildwars. I'm not going to suggest how , thats your decision.

But since you have no other responsibilities other than your mother why not put your time into something that would benefit you later ? and maybe help you decide how addictive you really are ?

Let's say divide the day in 5.

1) Morning hours
2) Lunch hours
3) Dinner hours
4) Evening hours
5) Late evening hours.

Your average gameplay you said was 9 hours a day.
As others say: Substitute TV- for GW (I do). It's the mornings that really gets your life going - what you do in the mornings sets the DAY!

So if you cram 4-5 hours of that in the late evening, then space the rest of it into mid day as a start. Then use your mornings to do something like Mall/excercise/whatever/new hobby/ - and be strict about it too. Then I think the new tasks in the morning might help you look away from GW or should I say look forward to it later.

I don't know. Basically see if you can do other things at other times of the day. And if you can't - you are addicted. Go get some Metadon or go to the equivalent of gamers AA in your town.

Hmmmm Ive got.....

I have played this character for 5,387 hours & 27 minutes. Across all characters, I have played for 6,527 hours & 12 minutes over the past 13 months.

Oh yeah, 2nd acct has 2,148 hours TOTAL on it... 3rd acct has TOTAL 2,214 hours

Im rarely afk cos i have a 3 screen system so GW is open even when im working and i can respond to PM as they come in. I work from home in IT biz.

Addicted.. nah ... it's just easy to play, stop and work then get right back to where i was... hence teh other accts.. its not fair to subject real people to my .."oh please wait ive got to answer phone, fax, send mail deal with customers etc" so its mules and henchies ftw!....eventually

wow i cant believe the person who said "9 hours isnt that bad ive seen worse, i only play for 7 hours a day" I mean i have trouble playing for about an hour....

I think that the game should tell you to take a brake every 2 hours, and kick you off after 10 hours and not let you back on for 24 hours.

I would say "only" comparing with 5890 hours in 17 months.
But you know....most of the time I was just afk, or spent double of the mission time just to look for a group, or the monks.
